My husband suffered with this disorder for over 13 years. It is a horrible pain that radiates from the Trigeminal Nerve in the face. Medical books say it is the most painful condition known to man. I would agree with that as I watched my husband suffer terribly for so many years.
This condition has an extremely high suicide rate. So many people do not get the care they need to help with the pain and therefore feel they have no way out except death. Shae found another way to deal with his pain. He turned to God and prayer. I tried to support him and help in everyway I could, and we tried to do everything we could with doctors to medically help him.
Over the next year I am going to be writing about this condition and how we, as a family, and Shae walked through life for so long with such a devastating condition.
By the way, my husband had 5 different surgeries. The last one was brain surgery and now the pain is gone. He is almost totally numb on that side, but we are happy with that instead of pain.
