We really enjoyed Lake of the Ozarks State Park with it’s playgrounds and wooded lake view sights. Our church uses Camp Red Bud on Lake of the Ozarks. We always go to the Ha Ha Tonka Castle.

We’ve enjoyed numerous visits to Grami and Tompa’s house. We always appreciate going to their house and being able to run free around and be accepted for who we are, unlike many campgrounds we go to. We always have such a wonderful, refreshing, and restful time when we stay at their house and they are so welcoming to us. Last time we visited they had a new golf cart and everyone had a blast driving it around :)

We stayed at Little Prairie RV Park. It was right across the road from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s last house where she wrote the Little House books. Down the road is her Rock House, that Laura’s daughter, Rose, built for her. Be sure to visit Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds while you’re in the area also. And, eat at the Burger Barn, delicious.

Camp Eagle Rock is a wonderful Assembly of God Camp in Southern Missouri. There are lots of fun activities to do including archery, rock climbing, shooting, swimming, an old west town, and over 1,500 acres to hike, bike, and 4-wheel. There are cabins for rent, a giant lodge, and an old chapel.
We are part of the Assemblies of God RV Maps Volunteer program and have volunteered at Camp Eagle Rock for many months. The Camp Hosts are both so kind to us and Cody really enjoys working with Roger.

We stopped in Sikeston, MO and stayed one night at Town and Country RV Park. It was a clean campground. There was a farm next to it with horses. There wasn’t a playground, just a big field.

We stayed at Redman Creek in Poplar Bluff near Lake Wappapello. Our whole family really enjoyed the campground with it’s spacious, wooded sites. The lake was great for kayaking and supposedly had good fishing (though we didn’t catch much). We did a good bit of kayaking and fishing at the dam and lake. We really liked the Poplar Bluff area and stopped at the Realtor’s office for a house listings magazine....

We stayed at 160 RV Park in our hometown of
Highlandville. We were packed like sardines, but it served it’s purpose for us to sort our storage trailer. There was an antique shop on the camp.

We stayed in Ozark at our friend’s house for a couple months. We had our 6th child, Tytus Shae Smith, while staying there. We had such a wonderful time at our friend’s house. It was so private and refreshing and a perfect place to bring our baby back to from the hospital.

Missouri is our home state and, even though we don’t have a house, this is our base where we go back to for rests and to sort and organize. We have many family and friends who live here that we love very much and miss. Even after all of our travels, Missouri is still one of our favorite places in the country. We’re not being partial, it’s just what we’ve found as we’ve traveled around. Everyone is so nice and welcoming and there’s a great sense of community in the area we are from.

We stayed a couple nights at Wallace State Park North of Kansas City. It was a really nice campground with wooded sites and a playground. There was hiking and biking and a lake to swim at.

We stayed one night at Neosho near Joplin. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any pictures of the campground. It was small and tight packed, but perfect for a one night stop. Wagon Stop Campground/RV park.
A friend of mine, Amanda, lives in the area and so she stopped by for a visit. She wrote and published a devotional book called The Proverbs 31 Daughter. She is currently working on a second book that she is going to publish also.
